The success of dairy farms greatly depends on the reproduction efficiency of the dairy cows; among which, body location and its motions are important for farm animals’ well-being and efficiency monitoring. Early alarms about dairy cow diseases, stresses and calving can be generated through analyzing untypical
behavior and motions (Saint-Dizier and Chastant-Maillard, 2018). Amongst the aforementioned conditions, timely and precise recognition of estrus and calving events are of great importance for farmers. Proper estrus detection is vital on dairy farms because it is the link to pregnancy and the greatest milk production
for each cow. Detection of estrus remains a major problem and its incorrect detection has been related to an annual cost greater than US$ 300 million by the USA dairy industry (Adenuga et al., 2020). To
distinguish calving and estrus in high density livestock farms, farmer increasingly trust on automated systems using sensors (e.g., pedometer, accelerometer, thermometer, etc.) to record and the understand animal data.
